धूप गौरैया
उतरती छज्जे से
आँगन बीच

sparrow sun –
alights from the ledge
into the courtyard



अनाम गंध
बिखेर रही हवा
धान के खेत

the breeze
spreads a nameless scent -
paddy fields



सीली दीवार
सारी रात महकी
अम्मा की याद

damp walls -
fragrant through the night
memories of amma

                  ---- amma – mother




नन्हें वल्बों में
गुम हो गया दिया
तैल-गंध भी

lost amongst
the tiny lights, clay lamps
smell of oil too




उगने लगे
कंकरीट के वन
उदास मन

concrete jungles
sprouting everywhere
doleful soul




मोंगरा फूला
तैर गये सपने
खुली आँखों में

mogra blossoms
how gently, dreams float
in open eyes




टहनी हिला
जाने क्या बतियाते
जंगली पेड़

waving branches
who knows what they talk
… these wild trees



रात सिसकी
दूब ने सजा लिये
सफेद मोती

sighing night
the doob-grass dresses up
in white pearls



युगों से खड़े
ऋषि बरगद जी
बने तपस्वी

since eons
the sage banyan, stands
like an ascetic
